Eligibility for CA CPT Registration:
To be eligible to appear for CPT Exams, a student should have cleared/appeared for Class XII Exams. Even after the result of Class XII is pending, the students can apply for provisional registration and such students would have to furnish an attested copy of their 12th exam admit card/receipt card with registration form. And student will have to furnish the attested copy of the passing certificate and result-sheet with ICAI on clearing the Class XII Exams.
There is no condition regarding the minimum marks that should be scored in Class XII commerce Exams and everyone who has cleared the same is eligible to apply for CPT Exams.
A registered student may appear in Common Proficiency Test after he has appeared in the Senior Secondary Examination* (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India (or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto) and has complied with such requirements as may be specified by the Council from time to time.
A student who has got himself registered for Common Proficiency Test 60 days prior to the first day of the month in which CPT examination is to be held i.e. on or before 1st April and 1st October, can appear in the CPT examination to be held in June and December respectively. Common Proficiency Test examinations are held in June & December every year.
CPT Exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December and to be eligible to appear for CPT Exam, a student should have registered 2 months prior to the month in which the Exam is scheduled to be held. So if student wants to appear for June exams then a student should have applied for registration before 1st April and for December CPT exams a student should have applied for registration before 1st October.
