Announcement: Discontinuation of ranks in CA CPT from December 2015 Attempt

In an announcement made by ICAI, on the official website,, it was notified that ranks in CPT exams will not be given from December 2015 onwards. The exact reason behind this step is not known yet.

Earlier it was a usual practice of declaring upto 3 ranks in CPT examinations by ICAI but from this attempt of December 2015, this rank giving will be stopped.

The exact notification as provided by ICAI is given hereunder:

Discontinuation of ranks in Common Proficiency Test (CPT)

It is hereby informed that in terms of the decision taken by the Examination Committee, declaration of ranks in respect of Common Proficiency Test(CPT), has been discontinued with effect from CPT held in December, 2015 onwards.

Candidates are requested to take note of the above.

The decision taken in Examination Committee is final and can not be undone in any case until and unless the same committee remove it by it’s action. So, the students who are expecting ranks in CPT examination December 2015, should stop the expectations. As there will be no rank game from December 2015 onwards.
